Homes for Iowa Career Fair Scheduled for June 23

Homes%20for%20Iowa%20event Homes for Iowa will hold a career fair on Friday, June 23, from 8:30—11:30, at the Homes for Iowa Building site, 307 S. 60^th Avenue W., in Newton.

The fair will begin with welcome and refreshments, followed by an employer informational session and house tour at 9 a.m. The career fair is scheduled from 10—11:30 a.m.

Construction and skilled trades second chance employers are encouraged to attend. Employers should register with Shelley Seitz from Iowa Workforce Development at 515-901-3600.

Homes for Iowa is a nonprofit organization that addresses Iowa’s housing shortage, trains offenders in the skilled trades, and reduces recidivism. It seeks to connect employers in the building trades with trained, skilled workers. For more information, visit the Homes for Iowa website.
